We are a primary school in Castlemaine leading the way in sustainability. We also belong to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, offering classes in growing, harvesting and preparing food.
The Castlemaine Highland Pipe Band is a social band that regularly plays a range of local events. We have been in the community since 1953 and are known for wearing traditional uniform, including feather bonnets, horse hair sporrans, woolen kilts and plaids. U3A Castlemaine was formed in May 1988 and in June of that year the first Committee was elected. Membership is open to anyone residing in the Mount Alexander Shire who is retired or semi-retired. The purpose of the organisation is to provide an opportunity to share knowledge of members through classes and other learning activities.
Set on 18 beautiful acres the Castlemaine Steiner School & Kindergarten is an independent school offering formal programs from Kindergarten to Class 8, and Playgroup.
