Castlemaine Fringe

Print

The mission of Fringe is to showcase and empower our many talented local artists and promote the development of unique creative experiences. Over nearly three decades the Fringe has attracted thousands of patrons and artists to Castlemaine for this fun-packed festival.

The Castlemaine Fringe is a celebration of the belly of life. Fringe is the Festival of the Mount Alexander Arts Collective, an organisation providing access and support for emerging and existing artists, musicians and other creatives in the Central Victorian region. The Fringe fosters and promotes an array of creative practitioners who develop and promote their ideas and work under this umbrella.

The 2019 theme ‘diversity and inclusion’ is reflected in the events and activities on offer: exhibitions, music, theatre, poetry, sunset soiree in the Botanic Gardens, writing workshops, locally made movies, studio visits, art debates and more.

Fringe is people for art and art for the people!
