She Writes in White Ink includes works by emerging artists Emily Donehue and Melita Jansen who are both currently visual art students at Latrobe University.  The works in this exhibition are partly inspired by the writings of French feminist philosopher Helene Cixous and are examining a women’s position within society and the many roles she plays.

Guildford Banjo Jamoboree

If you haven’t attended before, Guildford is a small settlement in Central Victoria, Australia, around 12km south of Castlemaine, and 25km north of Daylesford. The Banjo Jamboree was set up in 2004 to celebrate and highlight the banjo, its forms and its music. It is held on the weekend which corresponds to the third Friday in September each year.

When Leslie Thornton was a young student he lived right next door to the school but was always late. A confirmed clock watcher Leslie would stare at the schoolroom clock and sometimes observe the second hand slowing down and often stopping completely. Now an iconoclast, artist and horologist, Leslie likes to play with rigid concepts and the clock provides endless variations to blur images that are unquestioned and ubiquitous. Run the Maine
