The Tarrangower Cactus Control Group volunteers are called ‘cactus warriors’, and are dedicated to controlling the invasion of Wheel Cactus (Opuntia robusta) around the Maldon-Baringhup-Nuggetty region. We raise awareness about this noxious weed within our communities and educate landowners in control techniques, by holding regular community field days and providing incentives and assistance.
